Foods You Must Try (Greece): The Greek Salad

Greek salad is made with pieces of tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, onion, feta cheese, and olives (usually Kalamata olives) typically seasoned with salt, oregano and dressed with olive oil. It may also see inclusion green bell pepper slices or berries of capers( found in the Dodecanese islands).

Outside Greece however there have been many renditions of a “Greek salad” with the inclusion of lettuce salad with Greek-inspired ingredients, even though the original dish is distinguished by the absence of lettuce.
